Privacy Policy

吉日 Lucky Day

Effective July 17, 2026

吉日 Lucky Day (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is built to respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app accesses, why, and what happens to that information. In short: the app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking, and it does not collect or sell your personal data.

Information We Access

Location

If you enable it, the app uses your device’s approximate location to calculate local sunrise and sunset times and to show current weather on the widget. Your coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), a weather service, solely to retrieve the forecast for your area. Location is never stored on our servers, never linked to your identity, and never used for advertising or tracking. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in the Settings app, and the rest of the app keeps working.

Calendar

If you turn on the optional calendar feature, the app reads all-day events from your Birthdays calendar and any subscribed holiday calendars, so it can show today’s birthday or holiday on the calendar page. This happens entirely on your device. Calendar data is never transmitted, never stored by us, and never leaves your phone. The app deliberately ignores timed events such as work meetings. You can revoke calendar access at any time in the Settings app.

Information We Do Not Collect

The app has no user accounts and no login. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, usage analytics, device identifiers, or advertising data, and we do not use third-party analytics or advertising software.

Data Stored on Your Device

Your birthdate, preferences, and display settings are stored only on your device, and shared with the app’s widget through a private, sandboxed app group. This information never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app.

Third-Party Services

The only external service the app contacts is Open-Meteo, used to fetch weather. When weather is enabled, your approximate coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to return a local forecast. Please see Open-Meteo’s own terms for how they handle requests.

Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
